Amnesty International round table

Russia: 30 years of unpunished war crimes

First and second wars in Chechnya, war in Syria, war in Ukraine… For 30 years, the Russian armed forces have been committing war crimes in total violation of international law, repeating the same tactics from one conflict to the next. Indiscriminate attacks, deliberate strikes against civilian populations and infrastructure, use of illegal weapons, cruel treatment of detainees: human rights violations are systematic. Yet to this day, the perpetrators go unpunished.
Echoing the ‘Crimes without punishment’ exhibition presented by the Memorial Human Rights Defence Centre, Amnesty International is organising this round table discussion to address the challenges of combating impunity in Russia.

Chaired by Tchérina Jerolon, Head of the Conflict, Justice and Migration Programme (Amnesty International).
In the presence of : Natalia Morozova, lawyer for the Memorial Human Rights Defence Centre and Manon Loizeau, journalist and documentary maker, Russia specialist.
